It's important to have a durable, reliable, and long-lasting multi-purpose light to take with you into the backcountry. In addition to giving you the gift of vision in the dark, they can also be an important rescue tool if they have a built-in strobe, or flashing beacon. The LazerBrite Multi-Lux ($39.99) is equipped with not only a flash mode, but a high and low beam offering upwards of 150 hours of usable light (depending on settings.) The best part? The Multi-Lux is made in the USA, and LazerBrite is based out of the off-road mecca of Moab, Utah.

The modular design of the Multi-Lux allows the light to emulate the soft output of a chemical light (think glowstick on steroids) as well as functioning as a flashlight with a spot beam. The unit is submersible to depths of 50 meters and is trusted by the US Military to have a shelf life upwards of 10 years from its built-in batteries.

We found that they make an excellent choice for lighting up the inside of your vehicle or tent, with the same unit being capable of providing much-needed camp light if you need to leave in the middle of the night. Did we mention they're virtually indestructible?
