That storage container you bought from a big-box store might have looked waterproof—and durable at first glance. It might have even looked perfect to haul all of that gear you couldn't fit inside your truck on your roof rack—you may have even saved some money. Or at least I hope you did, because you'll need that cash to replace the gear that was just ruined. Buying sub-par waterproof protection equipment is a mistake you'll make exactly one time. Luckily, there's no reason to have soggy clothes and and broken gear anymore with the huge variety of protective cases available these days. New to the U.S. market is Australia's solution to keeping your gear safe and dry—Spacecase.

Trimcast, the original designer of the Spacecase, was recently purchased by Pelican, but they're still the same durable rotomolded cases trusted by the Australian Armed Forces and travelers around the world. Spacecase is even capable of producing custom foam inserts for the utmost in protection whilst in transit. These stack-able cases are a staple with off-road vehicles spending a good amount of time in the Australian Outback for a reason.

Price varies with size and color, but expect to pay $150+.

They're now available in the United States in a variety of sizes through Outback Proven. [link]
