Keen Footwear has opened a 2 million dollar factory in Portland Oregon to make some of its footwear including the Portland Boot model.

The boots upper is assembled in Asia but then shipped to Portland, Oregon where they are attached to the soles and finished by hand.

Although the labor costs are lower in Asia, Keen chose to open the Portland facility for several reasons including lower transportation costs and supporting their community.
