The Calico Clean Up committee has approached me about needing some assistance. They are looking for amateur radio operators to help with communications at check points for the poker run and various other areas during the run. I'm trying to rally the troops for some assistance. THis event was started last year and was a MAJOR success. We (the communications team) would be working with (reporting to) the National Forrestry Association. We just need to show up with our mobiles and HTs.

AMATEUR RADIO OPERATORS:

The comms team members will need to be at the Group Leader/Comms meeting at the Discovery Center at 7:30 am. It is important to attend this meeting so everyone is clear on their roles during the clean up activities.

Signed up for the cleanup, but won't be making it or else i would help out.. maybe you should post this up in the "Making a Difference" section? You might get a few more responses.

With the cancellation of the poker run (I guess it's OK to clean it, just can't recreate in it or so sayeth the USDFG) have their comm needs been met, or is there still a need?

We can certainly use more comms help. If you are interested PM me with your full name and callsign so I can add you to the list. Comms meeting is at 7:30 in the DDC staging area.
