Canopy???

Does anyone know if a canopy off a 91' Xtra Cab will fit on an 01' Xtra Cab Tacoma? I found one for pretty cheap but wasn't sure if it would sit right. Any help would be great.

The Tacoma roof line is slightly higher than the older truck's. It should fit, but will sit slightly lower.

Thanks. I have found a few of these but no Tacoma ones. I know that both years the Xtra cabs have a slanted roof so I thought it might fit.

I can send you a picture of what mine looked like with an older style top if you want ('95 extra cab taco). I prefer the look of the top that fits, but for what I paid I learned to live with it- it wasn't too bad.

A picture would be great. The canopy I was looking at was $250 obo, just needed to be painted to match.

If you are talking about a fiberglass shell then no, it will not fit.

Double check the measurements, but the fiberglass top I had on my '95 was from an older Toyota. The new Tacomas ('05 up) have a larger bed so no, they wouldn't work on them.

I think I am just going to wait until I can get a Tacoma one. I might still go try that other one to see how close it is.

You can also search auto trader, and classifieds for someone selling their truck with one on it and see if they will sell you theirs... You might get a good deal that way.
