hey fellas,

I recognize some of you from the Mud board. Looking forward to meeting some of you during Cruise Moab '06 and others during my visit to Phoenix in mid April.

Like Locrwln dude, I too am from Reno but live in ILL-ANNOY for right now. We're hoping to move to ALBQ, NM this year if all goes well. My offroading usually trips begin with a min 1,000 mile road trip and we're getting very tired of this. We want to move closer to where we play.

The Ali family has been doing long camping trips in a RR and now in the FZJ80. Of course, I like the LC much better for many reasons. Some of our trips are posted at http://photos.yahoo.com/alia176. I'm not a computer dude, so this site is full of bunch of pics of past trips, lots of mods to the Cruiser, family pets and of course the latest arrival, Isabelle Ali. On the cover of each trip folder there is a pdf map detailing the trip.

My next fun trip will take me from ALBQ to Richfield, UT through mostly back roads and fire roads...I hope. I've come up with a random agenda that'll get fine tuned every day until the day of departure! So far it's about 700 miles of mostly back roads and minimal hwy. I'm alotting myself min three days for this trip. If I wasn't going to Richfield for work, I'd drag it out a bit longer.

My vehicle is a '96 FZJ80 that is full of long haul amenities such as dual tanks, dual batts, GPS stuff, on board shower (working on it), OBA using York, etc.. I like to describe my rig as a jack of all trades and master of none. It has been an absolute blast tinkering with this fine automobile. But I am very conscientous of adding unnecessary weight due to the fact that I don't have a TRD supercharger and never will!

Anyway, see ya on the trails!

Ali

Hey man,

I'm in Bolingbrook, IL (about 35 min west of Chi town)

I see you drive a D-II, that's cool. I just organized a monthly meeting at my local LR dealer for the Chicago Land Rover Club. The techs taught us a few things or two.

When I'm in Phoenix next month, a D-II friend of mine will be flying in to join me on a trail run. We'll be at the Sonic drive in for the monthly meeting for the Copper state LC club on 4/21. Hope to see you there.

Later,

Ali

Ali,
Trail ride while you are in PHX sounds great!

I grew up in LaGrange, Just east of 294 and Ogden Ave.
Then lived down in the city for a while
Great town!

Thanks y'all! Looking forward to meeting up with you fellas in PH next month. I'll be arriving to PH on 4/17, work for day or two then I should be free and clear to goof off. Hoping to run a decent trail or two on Fri-Sun then I'll head over to ALBQ to meet with the realtors.

Let me know how we can hook up or join up on a trail ride. I'm posting on the Copper State LC club part of the Mud forum as well.

Hey Jack,
What's up dude? Get cracking on your birf/knuckle rebuild yo!!

Hey Ali, good to see you over here. We've chatted before on Mud, I haven't been posting much over there lately. Post up some shots of your truck in the members pictures thread. BTW, if you ever get up to the UP of Michigan let me know, if I ever get my truck back together, I could show you some fun places.

I know, I know, I plan to get started this Sunday morning. I've got family stuff in the afternoon, but I hope to get one side torn down at least. And to further add to my pain, I picked up a fuel filter yesterday so that I can change that while I'm under there. Lots o fun for me.

Really nice looking 80. Is that a roof tent or storage on the rack?
