So on my way out and back I thought it might be fun to meet a few of you on the trip. I plan on leaving Fl august 2nd and being in SLC August 7th. I will be heading back august 28th and gettin ghome on sept 1st. For those of you between Tampa and SLC let me know about getting together on the out or back portion. I will be travelling alone on this part of the trip since my wife is flying to and from SLC.

Brian,

You and I have already swapped a couple of e-mails, but I thought a post here might be appropriate.

By August we'll be ready to get away from unpacking boxes (at least [I]I[I] will.) and try out our Horizon, so we'd love to take a break, head east and try to meet up with you over near the Henry's Fork, the Greys, the Madison...you name it.

Maybe some other 'Expo-folks' might want to join us. :campfire:

Have a great trip.

Heck yea. We we are planning our route still but will have more info. in a week or so. We plan on traveling the east border from big bear to island park. Then heading up toward salmon and the magruder corrider. Wish I was pulling a camping trailer. A good friend of mine has a campa trailer that he is willing to lend me but I am concerned about pulling the heavy beast with the 4 banger. we will see. my big problem is I'm afraid I'll end up buying one afterward LOL!

I am not sure of my travel schedule for work but would be glad to meet with anyone that is passing through. I have not spent much time in the eastern part of the state and would not mind spending some time exploring it.

I had a compound fracture of my Tibia and Fibula in May and I am still recovering. My limited mobility has been driving me a little crazy, and I need to get out and about.

Ok just a heads up. We will be leaving Salt lake on the 12th heading North. We know we want to go to big springs and the sand dunes as well as bear lake. We are not setting a firm plan for this part of the trip since we are trying to mix in some paddling and meeting new friends. For those of you that want to get together let me know some days between the 13th and 17th so we can try to set something up. The second part of the trip we will head up to Salmon for a few days then the Magruder corrider road. We need to be back in Salt lake on the morning of the 27th so my wife can fly home. We are open to the Idea of company here and there on any segment we are doing.

Let me know when you guys are available.

Brian,

A front page article in our local newspaper today announced closure of a major part of the Sawtooth NF. We've got several wildfires burning in Idaho; one of them up in the vicinity of the Magruder.

You may want to keep tabs with this link http://www.nifc.gov/fireinfo/nfn.html

Other areas are being considered for closure as well.

This is a great link. Saved that one to check before I head out on a trip. Good stuff and unfortunately, very relevant.

Thanks for putting that up! :coffee:
