Where is the Black River located?

Scott it separates the Fort Apache and San Carlos Reservations in the White Mtns.

The Black and White R. converge and make up the Salt River.

That's a great area, a few of us backpacked into to the Black River from Fish Creek last year. I think it is the same Black River anyway, in the White Mountains of AZ. Cool trip and photos. :lurk:

It's a Gopher snake. http://www.desertusa.com/mag99/july/papr/gophersnake.html They are usually cool to hold, sometimes they bite ya though.
