I always come across cool stuff that my wife doesn't allow me to buy, I guess paying the mortgage is more important to her than stuffing our garage with camping gear, go figure! Nice Find -- Thanks, Rynosurf!

The 4x4 version of the Toyota Van has a transfer case with high and low ranges, plus skid plates.
Toyota imported them for only 3 years, 1987-88-89. This one has LE trim (top of the line) because
the bumpers match the body color. LE also usually has two sunroofs. The one over the passenger
compartment is quite large, big enough to give access to a tent on the roof.

I've got a few of those poles I picked up at a surplus store, use them for an antenna mast when I do remote events with my Ham radio setup.

I've seen the "spreader" thingies, but thought that they were used as some sort of base, putting them on the top of the poles to spread out the camo netting never occurred to me, good stuff.

They get a bit precarious when you get above 12-16'. I've modified one by cutting a slot across the bottom and attaching a hose clamp around it to clamp onto my antenna base, thought about doing it to the whole set to make it more stable.

I think it's an M105 and therefore it's a 1.5 ton trailer.

I think the consensus is that it's just built too heavy to work well for what we like to do - unless maybe you are driving a Hummer H1 or other BIG truck!

NATO Military Field Desk Table - $175 (ORANGE, CA)

This is a European (Swedish, I think) Military field desk or cartographer's table. The thing packs up neatly into a slender box about 11" wide, 40" long and about 27" tall. The thing is rugged and heavy, but it makes a great table for camping. I used this when I went to Scout Camp with my troop. It comes with 4 stools and has about a 40" X 40" table surface when set up. It also has a removeable storage tray and flip-out file holder in the base.

In your picture the bag looks to be fully extended and maybe ran out of lifting height. I'm wondering if that lift point is too "tall" for the bag's height. Similar to a bottle jack that could extend 24" but does not contact the vehicle until it is extended 20" so the last 4" won't do much to get the vehicle's tires off the ground.

You might want to try something to raise the initial height (pallet?) or find a lower point on the vehicle.

I have a 1986 Vanagon Syncro Westfalia for sale. For those that don't already know, this is a rare breed of VW buses that are known as the ultimate adventure bus since they are 4WD. The van is in good condition and everything works on it. I have put a new driveshaft on the vehicle and have always had VW professional mechanics work on the bus. the front passenger seat swirls, the back bench seat folds down into a bed, and the roof of course pops up with another bed. I am not enough of an expert to tell if the box is original. Owner thought it was an "Ammo trailer" but I did not think that the way the box was fastened on was original but what do I know. The box alone is about 7 feet long so the overall length was too much for me. The box almost seemed double-walled but had no data plate anywhere but OD paint is very clean all over. It has a beefy very military frame, axle and large 5 bolt hubs with enormous lugs. Dual parking brake handles, added on leveling jack, had shocks and springs over the axle, 4 mounting spots with mil tan 10L water cans, spare tire mounted on the front of the box. freshly rewired for all 12 volt lights, was registered with a plate, very clean underneath, 4 shackles on frame mounts, lunette ring and had some sort of lockable box on the tongue ahead of the spare.

i emailed the guy asked if there was any damage, to get more pics and see if the jacks were working and this is what he said:

I will e mail you some more pics when I get a chance, working all weekend. The damage includes some dents in the front of the camper that rubbed the front of the truck bed. Yes, it comes with jacks and they are in working condition. The power breaker box for the power is disconnected so it doesn't;t work when you plug an extension cord to the outside of the camper. (never had to use that). probably an easy fix for an electrical savvy person. I always used a deep cycle battery and wired it to the camper for power. All lights, ventilation fan, and water pump work fine. Ice box was removed for shelving and found that a good cooler always worked better anyway. Selling because I'm moving and don't have room for it.

I'd love to know how they got what appears to be a Kei car legally registered in California, of all places. It looks like an awesome and fun little vehicle, but I would do double-due-diligence on checking out the registration (and ability to re-smog in two years time, etc.) if I were looking to buy.

I was thinking the same thing but it is a dealer selling it. I'm sure it is registered like a golf cart and only legal an streets that are 35mph or less. Maybe it is smog exempt.

We looked at mog similar to that one, but actually in better condition with a fridge, bed, stove etc. It was nice, however im only 5'9" and i could barely fit in the cab. Even Yosh at 5'2" had to put her feet on the dash. These rigs are not made for long hauls, when you are cramped like that. I urge anyone that wants one to go test drive it first before doing anything else. I know im glad we did.

I have seen this truck around, looks pretty clean. The camper looks similar to an old flip pac with barn doors but opens like an A frame. He also has a fiberglass shell.

This camper shell is 12' with a 4' overhang and is in pretty decent shape. It does need a jack stand reattached but that should not be a problem it sleeps 4 and has a kitchen. The stove does work but will need the refridgerator fixed or replaced and has new cloth lining inside. The outside might look a little rough but it does remain dry on the inside and looks good. We need to move this as fast as we can as it is being stored away from the home. Camper needs to be gone by early Saturday, do not e-mail call 760 443-8118 ask for Barry.
