What's the stock weight of a Patrol? I love my Navara, but wished only that it were more compact and lighter. How do you like the engine?

oh and if you havent blank off the EGR before it does nasty things to the motor, its next on my to do list and cost's bugger all

G'day all.. just thought id post some pics of the rear drawers and laptop storage system i built for our trip thru the simmo
had a ruff idea of how i wanted them but kinda built as i went i think they turned out ok
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c114/othymiller/IMG_2979.jpg
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c114/othymiller/IMG_2980.jpg
wing doors on the sides for small storage
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c114/othymiller/IMG_2981.jpg
drawers bolt up to the existing 3rd row seat holes.. did a great job over 1000's of ruff km's the only thing that has failed is the fridge slide which i purchased and rattles like buggery!

I took out the second row seats for our trip. Wanted a sturdy and relativly dust free place to store the laptop so i could run live maps and back up photos etc..
this is what i came up with
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c114/othymiller/IMG_2976.jpg
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c114/othymiller/IMG_2977.jpg
also built in a small engel for cans along the way..
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c114/othymiller/IMG_2978.jpg
and the 8" screen.. all the usb ports are built into the dash so i can hook up the camera on the run without having to take out the laptop

Looking good mate, im also in teh proscess of building some rear drawers for my GU, must say id never thought tomount my maglite there im gonna have to do that.
Also if you havent already fit a rear table to the back door, i had one on my Shorty GQ and it was one of the best mods, get abit of ply/mdf/ally what ever pianno hinge and some wire rope to hold the weight and you got a cheap and bloody usefull table

I've thought about doing one on my Frontier but couldn't really come up with a valid reason to do it. Extra cooling maybe. But then again I plan on painting the hood soon to reduce glare.

Its a factory scoop with the intercooled patrols, i just realised the D40's dont have one.. the D22's do though.

I just bought a petrol one here in Oman with the 6cyl 4.8...gas is cheap
Now I know what it would look like lifted.....
I chucked on my 33's and they went on with no adjustment required, they don't even look big......
Now I've looked in the back of mine to see what height my cabinets will be...........................I see your engel almost touches the door top
So how big a ladder do you take with you to access your fridge ?
as yours must be at least 4 " higher than mine and mines easily over head height and I'm 6ft ?
My wife would require a fall harness to get me a stuby
Your Patrol is beautiful.

Thanks for the comments guys.. Grimbo the photoshoot was a good day except for the me screwing the front end. I straightened the panhard rod which turns out is pretty hard to do! The article was printed last July from memory.
