Alright so I have been trying to find an answer to this question all day today on various sites trying to see if it even possible and for some reason I have not found anything. I have 4 piaa 40 driving lights that use an h3 bulb I have been reading a bunch of success stories on the hella 1,000s being converted to HID. I was wondering if this could be done on the 40's using an h3 HID conversion kit. I figure there is someone that knows out there. :)

I don't know about those lights in particular, but if there isn't room for a regular H3 HID bulb (they are longer than a halogen H3), there is a company that sells short H3 HID bulbs.

Yah i saw that company but i would rather not spend 70 dollars to find out it doesnt fit. Does anyone have a measurement on the bulb length for the h3. That would actually help me out a ton so i could just go and measure it and see if it will.

FWIW, the 40's are a tiny bit deeper than the hella 500's, and the HID conversion has been done on the 500's.
