Toroweap - 29-30 Jul 06

Well, I'm waiting to hear a yes/no from one other person for a possible but not probable trip this weekend to Toroweap this weekend. It appears as though this weekend may actually be relatively cool in the high 70s lower 80s! Couple of questions:

a. What is the quickest way there from PHX?
b. Would you suggest taking a sat phone?
c. If we end up going, does anyone care to join on late notice?
d. Any other suggestions for Toroweap in July/August?

With the cruiser...I wouldn't worry about the sat phone....remember, I was doin' solo on the bike...more chances to hit a rabbit and crash...:exclaim:

Take I-17 to Flag....89 North to Jacobs Lake, then Fredonia....the road is about 7-10 miles West of there...it's good, can be muddy in spots this time of year...from Phx. about 7 hours to the rim.

Take plenty of water...

Though some other options have come my way, the last person with whom I was planning to travel is no longer going, however, I believe I'll be making the trip by myself. I just don't feel there will be another time anytime soon that I can do this; I'm bacheloring it this week and my normal responsibilities are removed for this weekend only.

I'll plan on the FLG and Locket Meadow area for sometime about 6-7pm Friday night.
