Thanks, Graham -

I want to get some software soon, and a new GPS unit. I'll be in southern Ethiopia's Rift Valley in late August and will be taking waypoints so we can determine a route for a field trip for 50 people (by 4x4 perhaps!) next year. Right now I've been using Google Earth (oh MY that's a sweet service) and entering in locations manually since many of my locations don't have digitized maps anyway.

Hope you're having a great summer!

Do you have the Russian topos of Africa? You can get a set that covers the entire continent. Really nice, but a bit old. Should cover Ethiopia. You just need to calibrate for a mac program. Easy to do in MacGPS Pro.

Thanks for the link. I have not been completely satisfied with the current Mac programs--I will give this a try.
