Just in time for the holidays!

Steven Bisig and Lisa Wood from ARB are both huge fans of ExPo, and appreciate all of your support of the ARB product.

In a very cool show of appreciation, ARB is offering their ARB Performance jacket to ExPo members only. This means that as ExPo members, you are the only ones outside of Media and distributors that can buy this jacket. How cool is that :)

When they are gone, they are gone.

How to order: You need to call ARB and order directly. To place the order, call this toll-free number

(866) 293-9083

Thanks again Jim Jackson, Lisa and Steven

They are closed for the night right now...

Scott - do you know how the sizing is? Fit big or small?

Those are some nice jackets :) I own the polar fleece vest version. Over here in Oz we're lucky enough to walk into the local ARB and get them off the shelf.

I was able to find a bit more information while surfing on ARB.com.au site:

ARB’s Body Accessories apparel range has once again expanded to
include a great product that is incredibly functional and stylish. The all new
Performance jacket incorporates a modern design that is very comfortable
and can be worn by both men and women.

Now that winter has set in, this jacket is the perfect addition to your
wardrobe and the bonded tech-fleece lining throughout will keep you warm
and cosy in all conditions. The outer is manufactured from a polyester-
elastane fabric that is wind proof, but also allows for maximum breathability.

Featuring an internal zippered breast pocket and additional pocket
designed specifically for your phone or PDA, the jacket also has two
zippered external pockets for storing smaller items, or keeping your
hands warm. And like the rest of ARB’s apparel range, all zips are genuine
YKK brand for optimum quality. A drawstring adjustable hem and Velcro
adjustable cuffs complete the jacket design which is available from ARB
stores nationwide in sizes XS to 3XLPerformance Jacket

At 8 AM the folks answering the phone had no idea what I was talking about so I sent them the link. Now the jackets are flying out the door so the word is out.

Get yours now as Scott at ARB says that they are rare.

The guys said it's a tight fit. It's a sport jacket and they say order one size larger then usual.

And yes, they are shipping to Canada.

Just ordered mine! :punk03:

They said that it does run on the tight side. A fitted appearance.

As a point of clarification, I slightly misunderstood Steven's email, and these jackets are not exclusive to ExPo only, but ExPo was the only media outlet they sent the press release to, which still makes us very cool :D. Sorry for any confusion.

Regardless, this is a cool opportunity, as this is the first time I have seen ARB Jackets available in the US for the general public.

Mine came today! Tried it on outside in a cool breeze. Here are a few observations.

Zippered handwarmer pockets could have slightly larger openings to easily accomodate the sleeve cuffs. The cuffs have a velcro adjuster that is a little bulky.

The material seems pretty tough and should not easily snag. It is not stretchy though.

There is a small inner pocket for holding a cell phone. Unfortunately it is located low near the hem rather than in the chest area. This means opening up the zipper almost all the way to get at it.

I normally take a medium in North Face and other gear and this ARB jacket fits fine. Seems to have a little extra room in the stomach/chest area for folks who enjoy Aussie beer.

The light fleece lining is just right. The high collar is great at keeping the wind off of my neck.

All in all a great price for the jacket.

Received my jacket. Good and very bad.

Good: Nice jacket. Good materials. It will even make a great jacket to do some warm winter mountain biking in. It does fit a bit small but not really that bad. I ordered one size big and I think that's OK if you ever plan to wear a thicker shirt underneath. Over a T-shirt, I think the regular size is fine.

Bad: Shipping. This was PAINFUL. Not in that ARB is a bad shipper, but rather UPS. The shipment was sent via the cheapest option available - UPS ground. Unfortunately UPS ground charges customs brokerage fees unlike Air shipments. So here is the breakdown of additional charges:

Declared value: $111.29 CAD
$18.92 duty (because the package was declared as made in China - correct description)
$6.51 taxes (pretty standard)
$39.10 brokerage fee for UPS
$1.95 tax on the brokerage fee
Total extra cost: $66.48

Recommendation to Canadians: Do not purchase. That $100 jacket just cost me $200. Big disappointment.

This is wrong all day long!

Unbelievable liability to order something from the US that is being delivered north of the border. I don't know how any Canadian is willing to take that risk. That plain sucks!

Don't all those taxes go towards universal health care and other Canadian stuff? Next time have the jacket sent to me, I'll remove all the tags and jam it in a tiny box with a note:

Dear MountainPete,

Please stop leaving your smelly old jacket at my house. I am tired of always shipping it to you in Canada. Next time I'll help you pack.

Ouch!

For any other Canadians thinking of the jacket. I would be happy to ship it up via USPS, dodges brockerage and taxes I'm told (send a couple packages up there a week). No charge to ship to me as I'll bring it in with a regular stocking order.

Got mine yesterday. Pretty neato. I dig the inside pocket. Not sure what I would put in it but it's cool. The cell phone pocket is in a weird place on the inside. All in all I really like it.

Thanks for the tip on where to get one!!!!

well I got my ARB jacket some time ago and just can't seem to wear it ever. It's alittle smaller then I like my jackets since I wear multiple layers when I'm outside. So my lose is someone else's gain first $80.00 takes it. Shipped to the lower 48 included. SIZE IS XXL same as scotty. Paypal only email me at the address below.

thanks
