Nice looking rig! How did you mount those lights on the front? Any shake?

Thanks! Originally I was going to mount the lights in the lower air dam which I have seen people do. It would have involved making a mount. Before I did that I decided to see where else I could mount the lights. I ended up putting them in the current location because there's a metal support behind the bumper there and all I had to do was drill in and mount. There is very little shake. From what I've seen there's less shake than others who mount them on light bars. It might be because the plastic part of the bumper helps sinch it. I don't know.

I'm hoping it's only temporary until I get an after market bumper. But that's what I said a year ago.

cool! So did you have to take the bumper off, or did you just measure it out and drill through the bumper and metal behind from the top? It is hard to tell exactly where they are mounted from the pic.

I hear ya about the bumper, it is expensive. Part of me wants to be different and keep the stock bumper though. I sort of like it anyway.

Anyway, your looks really good and the lights are well done. What kind of lights did you get (fog, driving etc...)?

Here's a close up if it helps. No I didn't need to remove the bumper. Just measured very carefully since there was no turning back once the first hole was drilled :) I use the KC Slim Lights Long Range Driving lights. The light is too concentrated though. My plan is to eventually change the 2 outside lights for a wide beam of some sorts or just add some sort of shim to point them outward a little.

thanks!

Where did you run the wires through?

sorry for all the questions.

No problem with the questions. I drilled a hole for the wires just above the hole I drilled for the mounting point. Ran the wires along the passenger side fender in the engine bay, across the firewall to the drivers side, poked a hole through the rubber boot in the wall with a wire hanger and pulled them through. I put the switches in the two blanks on the left of the steering wheel.

Just installed a new differential cover from Blue Torch Fab. The cover is very solid :smiley_drive:

and a Yaesu FT-7900.

Awesome X, Im loving the light mounts as well. Im a big fan of putting the lights around there vs above the hood. Im always worried about hood glare. Im planning on getting an X soon, I have the same radio setup in my frontier now Ft-7900 and cobra 75. What kinda antenna setup do you have for both? Im using a nmo mount through the roof on the frontier.

It's been a while since I posted anything. Recently completed the Titan swap and had a friend build me a front bumper.

The bumper looks good. What is the Titan swap that you mentioned?

You add the Titan diff to the Xterra... Gives you a few more inches and the Titan diff is a little stronger than factory Xterra diff.

Yeah and control arms and axle shafts and extended tie rods. Added Radflo 2.5 coilovers for Titan as well.

I was getting a little too much wheel well rub with it so this weekend I cut into the fenders.

The line on your fender cuts looks really good, especially the little uptick right behind the bumper. It's a nice looking truck!
