I recently converted my electric gate to solar power. I used a 5 watt solar panel from CDT solar. CDT had some of the best prices I found anywhere. They are located in the US in Santa Clara CA and speak english. They seem to geared more for the smaller systems and provided all necessary info and support on the installation. I paid $46 shipped for a 5 watt panel. I figured the break even cost of the conversion to solar to be about 18 months.

Very cool. Is it direct wired to the gate motor? or do you have a battery ?

Gate operates on 12 Volts and uses a motorcycle battery
