Were going to take an intro to climbing class on 4-5-09 in Joshua Tree. Any words of wisdom before we go?

We have Zero climbing experience and heights make me nervous. I have to give it try anyway it sounds fun (sorta)

.

Anyone interested in giving it a try with us, pm me.

Words of wisdom? How about better you than me?

Heights make me nervous too. I climbed a little while out there at Josh and only on car size boulders :p

Remember to climb with your legs and trust your foot holds, everyone tries to hang on too much when they begin.

honestly just focus on where you are and what you are doing and look ahead :) I am sure you will be with a guide so listen to them :)

It isn't at all as daunting as you think. The beginers class is a great idea. I learned like that and it was super easy. Takes the nervousness out of the process. You can feel better that you are with someone experienced.

I'm sure you'll have a great time. Taking a class is a good idea.

No words of wisdom other than be an attentive belayer and have fun. :)

Cheers,
Graham

Exactly what I was going to say. My only real advice, and have fun! You couldn't do it in a more spectacular place of course...
