This was last weekend in the Catskills of NY state, she was released unharmed to get even bigger!

Dang! All I'm getting is the big red x! I was really wanting to see that bass! Biggest bass I ever got was only a 5 pounder....

The record largemouth in NY State was 11lbs.4oz!!!! It was recorded in 1987 at Buckhorn Lake. I can't even imagine what that beast looked like!

Sorry, had to drop that random bit of trivia I remembered...

That's awesome and a spectacular catch for that part of the country. The biggest one I was able to land out of the north east was only 6 1/2 lbs. Great job and nice to see she was released.

Every time I see a thread like this, I am reminded that my family has about a mile of the North Fork of the Kaweah river... full of beautiful trout... and that I haven't fished in years :(

Caught one juuuust like that at Orange Lake a few years back...right where O'Mally's used to be!
