Well I though I would throw this out there. I have beel using these Aloksak bags for a few years now. They are great for protecting electronics. I always keep one with wallet keys cell phone in my thwart bag on the canoe. I also have a buch of them in my camera case. Each lens is in one etc.

They were developed for the seals to protect the GPS/PDA units they carry. They operate like a zip lock but are made froma heavy duty polymer and are radio frequency welded. Aloksak say no water up to 200' for 3 months guaranteed. Although I have not proven the 220' I toss a cell phone into one and drop it in an aquarium for 2 months. it didn't leak at all.

Best part is they are dirt cheap. You can get a 3 pack of 9" x 63/4" bag for like $6.00. I like em because I can carry stuff in my pockets with out it getting wet. and for cell phones/gps etc you can operate basic things right through the bag without taking it out. They come up to 12x12 and they have some new ones large enough for sleeping bags etc.

Great recommendation. I have seen those used before on adventure races.

I think they would be a great way to keep cameras and such dry while inside the big waterproof packs too.
