Anyone have any experience with National Geographic Travel Destination CD-ROM Interactive Topographical Maps? They are blowing them out at STP for $3.55. At that price it would be interesting even if it ends up not being useful. Feedback if you have any please.

Based on the 94 views and no replies I am guessing that nobody has experience with this product. I don't have any experience with it either, I use the NG Topo 2008 State map product.

I use the NAT Geo state map program as well and really like it. you can get great detail and I can interface with my GPS and download/upload tracks and routes.

The version they're selling appears to be really old...did you read the system requirements?

You might be better off getting Delorme Topo USA version 7 (latest) for the entire US for only $99. It integrates USGS topo maps with forest service maps and wilderness areas. In addition, you can download aerial and satelite imagery.

Be aware that most nationwide gps software only includes low res maps while the individual state ones for the same price are typically high res.

Momrocks, just saw this thread, better late with a reply than never, eh?

I have used NG TOPO for over a year and wouldn't trade it for anything. The initial cost is high but what it gives you is great. I've got it on my laptop, interface with the GPS to show where you are in real time on TOPO. The map follows you wherever you go and if you want leaves a track of where you have been.
You can draw the route you want to take before hand and then follow it once you're on the road, dirt/gravel/rock road preferred though.

I would really like to see the other products out there as a comparison.
