Folks who are thinking about purchasing a V8 4Runner might want to wait until 2010. Toyota is replacing the 4.7L V8 with a redesigned 4.6L that produces 310 hp and 327 ft-lbs. The HP is up about 12% from the 4.7L design, and torque is up about 4%.

In the Tundra pickup, the new V8 will be paired with a new 6 speed automatic transmission. I believe the lighter 4Runner will stick with the 5 speed auto.

The 2UZFE has proven to be a very reliable Toyota engine. I'd say hold out for the deals on 2009 models when the new one is on lots:ylsmoke:

If anyone is in the market for an '09 get it now. In my region (and others) there arent to many out there. Our lot has 0 and is getting 0. Only way I will get any is to dealer trade for them.

Had a customer last weekend who wanted a white SR5 V6 with the 3rd row and she was ready to sign. I had to turn her away.
