The design of this hat seems perfect. It would be very nice to have something to block the sun and rain as well as protect the back of the neck.

Not the best picture but looks similar to this one. Its fur felt so not the best for rain. (edit, says water resistant Buffalo felt)

The hat in the first post looks like a scene from Jurassic Park where they are hunting the dinos.
Nice looking hat.

I added another pic to the first post - perhaps that is more helpful.

Felt wont do at all - and it does not have to be this exact hat of course, the design is what I like about it.

It is in fact from Jurassic Park - The Lost World. It seems to be more rigid than the Tilley appears to be. One thing i have to have is a hat that breaths. My head makes more heat than a nuclear control rod, and if I can't vent the hat, I might spontaneously combust - so that Tilley just might be ticket!

I also get hot headed :) and have been using a hat from these guys.

The "Breezy"

They don't show all the models on the website unfortunately, but they have several similar hats in a variety of finishes.

I like the Breezy in suede. Mine is different to the picture on the site which has what looks like a canvas band around the rim. Mine has a matching suede band.

The difference in temperature when wearing the Breezy is very noticeable. Mobile aircon :)

I think these hats come from Oz.

It appears to be African - and if you can figure out how to order one online, I would appreciate the tip. Awful website. That is a great looking, seemingly very affordable hat. With Mobile Aircon - how could I not try it?

It's a local company and they have outlets in every mall. I just thought that perhaps they imported them from Oz. Before they stocked them the only similar hats available here were from OZ.

It doesn't look like they do online selling. I didn't notice that at first. :o
I've got to go there in the next few days. I'll see what they have to say

It is in fact from Jurassic Park - The Lost World.
Saw it again last night, as the movie was on one of the cable channels.

I have an old Dorfman Pacific hat called the solarweave, which is a venting safari hat. Worked great and was a favorite until I lost so much hair I would sunburn through the weave on a long sunny day. :(

Here is a internet pic. http://dadshats.stores.yahoo.net/dostrco.html

Big brim from and back, forms a decent shape, keeps the ears shaded. I got mine on a closeout, and didn't see too many on google, but this site still carries them.

Nice site. That's basically the same range of hats we have here.
My hat is the equivalent of the Breeze Bark on that site

At first I thought it looked like the Akubra Coolabah, but the hat in the picture does not have the telltale crocodile band.

It is a nice Australia made hat, but if you want sun & rain shade try the Akubra Territory.

Here's a link (http://aussiedirect.stores.yahoo.net/akubrahats.html) w/ a pretty big selection of hats.

I personally like the Territory by Akurba Hats. It looks like the hat the game warden, Sam Flynn, was wearing in the Crocodile Hunter movie. (I like the FJ75's everyone is driving too)
