Cool, so what's a class 7?
Looks like a certan Andy Grider (702) and Scott Brady (704) are racing in that class.
Actually the dates on the site seem to be mixed so it's not so clear what is for 2006 and what's for 2007. Maybe some Scott Brady already ran this years 500 :D

WT, those entries were for the Baja 500 this past June (06). The two names you cited just happen to be different guys who share the same names as the two guys we know. The Andy Grider we know was in a Class 10 car. Class 7 is open mini trucks.

There is only one Andy Grider that I know of and he was DNF'd with the Class 10 #1012 vehicle for the 500. There was a driver withdrawal in Class 7 (#702) about a month before the race and it may well have been Andy opting for a better ride. Really don't know, but the Idaho spud truck driver does.

It might just be another lucid dream, but I could swear the spudman told me there was another Andy Grider - strange I know, not exactly the most common name, let alone in the world of racing.

This whole "people with the same names" thing sounds like a big conspiracy to me....

NOOOOO, I'm not going to change my Avatar and Name to SpudTruckDriver...but  OTOH, who knows???
THE Andy Grider did DNF in a Class 10 in the '06 Baja 500. He had been "Driver of Record" with the Class 7, but that team, hummmmm, how shall I put this?...collapsed earlier in the season with some MAJOR differences between Andy and his partners. I don't think the 702 ever made it south of the border.
There is a Scott Brady driving in Class 7, but I haven't met him.
But, now back to the subject at hand....
WOW! SUPER CONGRATS, SCOTT! THAT'S FANTASTIC!
Maybe you should give some thought to coming down for this years Baja Mil. The course hasn't been posted yet, but it's a fact that they are racing from Ensenada to La Paz, and the strong (from a reliable source) rumor is that the course will again follow the Puertecitos - El Crucero (Laguna Chapala) road. We plan to be in residence, of course, I won't be doing any pit stuff. Getting too old for that. :) Tentatively, Andy will be in the Class 10 and is supposed to ride the Suzuki with Travis Pastrana, Mouse McCoy, and a third rider in Class 22 (not sure who yet or even if this is happening).
Two years ago we clocked RG at 132 mph on the road near the PB turn-off!:smiley_drive: :Wow1:

Sorry, I meant to tag these photos by Lee Ames onto the above post. This is the Class 10 that Andy and Kevin Curtis (his partner in Curtis-Grider Motorsports) drove in the '06 Baja 500. As far as I know they will race the same car in the up-coming 1K.

Very nice indeed. Can't wait to see how this progresses.
So, a couple of questions:
This will remain street legal I assume since you will be driving it to and fro. si?
Will this be your next adventure vehicle after the race?
Need a professional photographer to tag along?:hehe:
Love it Scott, more power to you. You are living the dream ... and I know you are busting your butt to do so. You deserve it.

Anyone from the east coast looking at making the trip out for the 500?
Are the dates listed on the score site correct? (June 1-3 ?)

...Are the dates listed on the score site correct? (June 1-3 ?)
I think you can rely on that information. Sal Fish and crew (SCORE-INTERNATIONAL) have changed dates before, but that is the rare exception. The '500' has been the first weekend in June for several years.

Hey Scott, the TC kit is 13", but you are only running 8" coilovers? Are the coilovers inward and angled enough that 8" of travel is all you need?

The A-Arms are longer, so 8" of travel at the coil translates to 13" of travel at the spindle.

NO PRESSURE! :D
Good luck! If we don't take our 1600 car down I'd love to help. Should be a lot of fun! The 500 is my all time favorite race! Better than the 1000 in the sense that its long, but not so long that you want to poke your eyes out after being up for 30 hours! :Wow1:

I will be there. If you need any pit crew assistance I'd be glad to join in, don't think you'll have any shortage of volunteers though.
