I am showing a half dozen photos in a gallery exhibit (my first) in 10 days.
The show is called "Africa: Wildlife and Culture."

The photos below are my likely submissions. But I am having a bit of a time coming up with good titles for the images.

Here are some ideas I have or have been suggested by others:

Maasai: The Watcher; Portrait of a Warrior
Road Scene: Cattle Crossing
Cubs: Lion Kings; The Cubs; Waiting for Mom
Lion: Eyes of Fire; Majesty; Distant Gaze
Elephant w/Bird: Hitchhiker
Sunset: Ngorongoro Sunset; Ngorongoro Afternoon

So that's where I'm at. Any thoughts or ideas for titles will be greatly appreciated.
:)

Ed, is it too obvious to name the elephant/bird something like "A good friend always has your back" ???

Do you think that is too tacky for such fine art that you've created here? I do like the hitchhiker title, though.

:088:
Hey, do you think you will share with us where and when your exhibit will be. So we can come down to check it out in person?

Any and all suggestions will be considered....
Of course, they could always be considered "yech," or "argh," or even, "gag!"
;)
But all suggestions WILL be considered.
:D

1. I like "The Watcher". Or maybe... "Gaze beyond steel"
2. Ngorongoro rush hour (or insert proper location name)
3. Kindred spirits
4. I like "Eyes of fire", that's good.
5. Back seat driver
6. Layers in light or Misty mountain dream ( I think I like "Ngorongoro afternoon" better though)

Ed, those are fantastic photographs. Nice job! Best of luck with the exhibit. You are going to make people smile :)

Here are my thoughts...

Maasai: Sentinel
Road Scene: Intersection of Distinctions
Cubs: Legacy
Lion: Potency of a Gaze
Elephant w/Bird: Kindred Spirits (reminds me of that Tom Waits song about the bird and whale that fall in love)
Sunset: Mystic Layers of Ngorongoro

Great photos!

Hey BT were you looking over my shoulder before I finally posted my suggestions or what!?
:D
Further evidence that great minds think alike! I actually had "kindred spirits" for the cubs but switched it last minute!

I wouldn't dwell too much on the names, let the photos do the talking and they are fantastic photos.

If only I could take pictures like that

Well, today is matting and framing day.
Thanks guys for the great ideas!

Rob, you are correct. The name is not as important as the work itself.
Thanks...I needed that!

Since the gallery does want titles, here's what I decided:

Sentinel
Loliondo Rush Hour
Kindred Spirits
Eyes of Fire
Hitchhiker
Ngorongoro Afternoon

That's my story and I'm sticking with it!
Thanks again...

Will the gallery exhibit be here in Tucson? I would love to check that out!

Yes, it will be at Blue Raven Gallery & Gifts, 3054 N. First Ave., Suite #4. (On First Ave south of Ft. Lowell), from October 14th through November 11th. The gallery is open Tuesdays through Saturdays 10 AM to 5 PM.

The show will be called: "Africa: Wildlife and Culture."

It's a fundraiser in part for African Conservation Fund. Roseann will be giving a short talk on Saturday evening, Oct. 14th. And both Roseann & Jonathan will have photos as well (I think).

Hope to see you there!

Ed

I added a flyer for the Gallery Show as an attachment...
