The Unicat web site has some details and a few Photoshop illustrations
of two new, smaller (i.e., more affordable) designs.

The first is called the Pico. It's designed to fit on smaller 4x4 trucks
like the Fiat Daily 4x4 or the Mercedes Sprinter, which apparently is
available in Europe with 4x4 from the factory. This camper is 11 feet
long, which would be a good match with USA pickup cab/chassis like
the F450.

The second, longer model is called the Pico Plus. Its 12.5 foot cabin
would be a good match with a Fuso FG.

Even if you can't afford Unicat prices, the design layout of these
smaller campers is worth reviewing.

thats great ,,, i've often thought about building my own rig based on a dodge cummins chassis with a NPR cab and box on the back, this could be one way to it.

Might you understand whether the Terracross bodies can be purchased in this country (or imported with Unicat's help) or are these bodies a European-only thing?

Yes very definitely they can be imported, but you might have to pay 2.5% duty.
However, it's preferable to ship the chassis to Unicat because not only are the torsion-free mounts critical, there are other interfaces between the body and chassis. Taking a driving tour of Europe and possibly North Africa and returning to Unicat to rectify any faults isn't the worst way to spend a month or so in the summer.
You might not have to pay duty if you ship the completed vehicle to Halifax and just sort of drive across the border...

It'd be interesting to know whether Unicat could prevail on one of the German companies to do their 4x4 conversion on a NAFTA Sprinter while it was getting a cabin. Of course, with all the quality parts, the shipping and the weak dollar, you probably wouldn't have to work too hard to end up with a $200K Sprinter camper.

Global Expedition Vehicles will custom build and or mount your new Expedition Body only or build your completed Expedition Vehicle on any chassis. Compare the Quality and Value

I saw your Unimog at Unicat a couple of years ago. Quite funny that your Unimog was manufactured not even 50km from Unicat but still had to be brought to the US and then shipped back to Germany for the modification.
Anyhow, nice looking Mog!
