Well we have started on the build at last..
The base vehicle is an ex Danish army MAN 8.136 7.5 ton permanent 4x4 truck.
We have built a box thats approx 4m x 2.2mx2.2m out of stainless box.
This has been clad with 4mm ply with 1.2mm aly glued and riveted to the frame...

Interesting build! Is that Chris Scott's old truck, BTW? The motorcycle lift and roof rack seem to be similar.

That thing is a beast!
Thanks for the feedback.
Yes it is Chris Scotts old bus.. camperised the origional insulated tilt, but there just wsnt enough room. Ok for short trips, but as we are heading off for a year the bigger the better (within reason!?)
Got all the outside finished this week, so will be starting on thei nterior next week. The toilet, shower tray and water tanks landed yesterday, just waiting on one of the windows. All the locker doors are ready to go in and the skylight..
Will keep you up to date as we progress
Been a busy few weeks on thebuild but its getting there now.
We will shortly be moving in and heading off- got to be out of the house by the end of the month ! Then we head east from the uk to hopefully get to Alaska...:smiley_drive:
A few photos of where we are upto..
At an Overlander gathering this weekend, testing as we build it !

Hi
It looks like a good project! co-incidently I have logged many hours in a MAN 8 as a sergeant i the Danish army! :smiley_drive:
-And looking at your homepage I see a Volvo TGB13, my girlfriend and I are building one for expedition use. Two rather rare coincidences on an American forum!
Good luck with the build!
