I have made a trip to Toroweap in the North Rim of the Grand Canyon before in a Jeep but have always wanted to do it on a motorcycle and I have completed that trip. A great place to go and camp. There was no one at all in the campgrounds and I made the trip solo. I will try and post more pictures when I get back home. I dropped in from Utah and made my way to Toroweap. Who needs fireworks when you have a view like this. The XR 600 did a great job and looking forward to more trips. Later...Clint

LostXR:
Is your XR street legal? Reason I ask is that I have been hassled (told to get out) by National Park Service Rangers several times in the past, so now I ride only my street legal dirt bikes down there. Canyonlands and Grand Canyon rangers were always the worst at finding any reason they could to prevent dirt bike riders from enjoying the parks.

Think I can see a plate on the side of the rear fender.

Wow, great place. I need to bring my moto West!
I wanna motorcycle!
A motorcycle is one of the few vehicles that is both simpler and more draughty than a Land Rover. :)
Cheers,
Graham (the other one)

Yep, my bike has tags with all the right stickers and I have not had any problems so far at all. They really look at it funny when you pull in but when you show that you have plates, insurance and all the right stuff they need to see they are OK but then they always do give me the speech about keeping it on the trails. I dont have any problems keeping to their rules and it makes it a lot easier for the next guy that might come along. I do also own a Jeep and an Adventure Trailer as well but the bike is a blast to make some trips on. Later...Clint

More is on the way for sure. I am completing the trip to the Grand Canyon today and heading over to the Vermilion Cliffs tomorrow and will report back. More fun on the XR 600R. Later...Clint

Here are a couple of pictures and I will add more when I get back home. Internet service is very spotty out here. I am really going to try and get my bike to a much needed car wash today. I forgot what color it was under all the dirt. Later...Clint

The Vermilion Cliffs was an outstanding trip fro me. I will have to say if you plan a trip to the interior of the Cliffs you will see tons of deep rutted SAND. Did I say Deep Rutted SAND. Just want to be sure you know you will be seeing a lot of SAND. Say some great spots and had a great time. The SPOT unit kept tabs of my location. Later...Clint
