Ruger makes the best in my opinion
The Uberti Frisco is beautiful - I wish it had the Ruger/Beretta safety mechanism though
no idea what the load capacity on Colt reps are though - 250 grain on a 45
does a 357 mag make a bigger whole than a 45? given velocity versus weight in basic "home defense standard loads"?
love the Ruger Bisley Acu Sport - best single yet imo
still not sure why 22s are popular and so expensive - local FFL said he can't keep them on the shelf

I have a Ruger .357 Bisley and a 30/30 Winchester.
My dad has shot competitively in the Cowboy Mounted Shooting world. He has a few guns. . .

30-30 is a great choice especially since ammo is like 17 bucks a box - though aesthetically I love the 1873/1876 reproductions
any reason you prefer the 357 over a 45?
do you have a vaquero bisley or blackhawk Scott? nice combo

All serious fun, but it's getting expensive even with reloading equip.

Blackhawk. It was my grandfather's.
My weapon of choice is an HK .45 USP ;)

Scott, have you tried the new HK45 or HK45C?

I have not. . .
I am well-practiced with the USP, and feel confident with it because of the number of rounds and practice with it.
I have shot the USP compact, and found the excessive muzzle lift to be a distraction. I am big enough to carry/conceal the full-size frame.
I would like to shoot the HK45 though.

I’m kind of confused on some of the stuff going on in this post but I love me some guns so I figured I’d reply
I dig single actions.. Learned how to shoot on a Ruger Single Six in .22lr
I also like 1911 single actions..I have a Springfield Armory Professional model that is far more accurate than I
I think the .45 will make a larger hole than a .357.. Though I doubt most assailants will know the difference..
30-30 is a great all purpose round in a reliable compact package ( my fav marlin 336)
Hk 45 SHOOTS AMAZING>.. I am a Glock guy but considered trading my 21 in for a HK45.. Very smooth even considering the long double action first shot..
I also think the O ring in the barrel helps accuracy immensely..
Thanks for listening to my babble ..

I've got a 3-screw Single Six that I absolutely love to shoot, in fact next to my CZ52 it probably gets the most action, its just so cheap and fun to plink with. My father had a Single-Six (.22) that we grew up shooting from the time we could hold it up on our own. It was later stolen along with some other relic firearms in a home burglary, a really sad loss as he had bought it new when he was a late teen. Last year my neighbor (Skinny the arms dealer for those that have met him), had a couple of clean Single-Six's for sale, I couldn't help but score one for my pops to replace his missing unit. My brothers and I went in on it together and gave it to him for fathers day. The hardest part was keeping it a secret for several months. In the meantime we had gone to a local gun show and he was actually checking out a few of the Single-Six's for sale. It was all I could do to talk him out of buying one :D

My wife's very favorite handgun is a SAA in .45LC
She doesn't carry it much, but she loves shooting it.
