I thought I would translate for you Aussies out there:ylsmoke:

I am trying to decide on some new tires for the Montero. I am leaning towards 31x10.5x15 BFG M/T. Is there any reason to not choose M/T over A/T as my commute is only about 3 miles.

Should I go for 33x10.5? I had 33x12.5 before and did not like them, but would consider the narrow tires.

I am replacing the horrible stock tires and putting in OME, with the heavy duty rear coils.

Thanks!

I guess I am also considering 33x10.5. I am thinking that these are 33x10.5s, but they may be 34s or 35s.

I'm running some used 33x10.5's and so far I think they work great.

I love my 33x10.50's... I consider them to be about the perfect all around tire for an expo rig. Good mix of added capability without greatly adding stress on the drivetrain. 255/85/16's are pretty close to that exact size (a little bit taller give or take a 1/4") too if you want to run 16's.

Tall and skinny is the way to go for most things IMO. BUT: if you run MUD, SAND or SNOW all the time then maybe wider tires are better for you.

Cheers

I run on 33 10,5 r 15 BFG mud on my SWB Gen 1

I think they are great. Works very well.
I just to have 33 12,5 r15 Allterrain
And the improvment in braking and acceleration is big.
The mud 10,5 works very well offroad.
I like them onroad as well, but my tyres have been siped very much.
They don't last as long but it improves the ride quality on wet and icy conditions.
