Does anyone know of a good source for GPS maps of Eastern Africa? especially ones that are capable of being used with turn by turn directions with a Garmin GPS?

Thank you

Tracks4Africa is the way to go. I've downloaded Namibia and Botswana. They have turn by turn directions for Garmin. They also have a MAC computer conversion. Plus tons of info for fuel, camping, B&B's, sights etc, etc.

They also have great online backup from contributors and users. Check out the google group (http://groups.google.com/group/tracks4africa?hl=en).
Twice a year they have updates of the map- free in the 1st year when you buy the map.

Just for interests sake. T4A is also an overlay that can be activated in Google Earth

Thank you! That's exactly what I was looking for.

Sorry for taking so long to say that, things have been a little crazy at work.

Thanks

I'm leaving in a month to South Africa and Mozambique on a missions trip. Is tracks4africa still the preferred software for a garmin gps? Does it run seamlessly on the garmin units? Or am I better off buying garmin's software?

Yes T4A will be THE best solution for SA and Mozambique. Garmin has also a city navigator for SA
