Has anyone ever seen a review and/or comparison of 12v frige's?
I am looking to buy, but had several problems with the Engle has put in my last trailer.

Thanks.
Jeff

Overland Journal, summer 2007.

However, I'm surprised you had problems with an Engel. They're normally as reliable as rain in Seattle.

ARB fridge here for a few years, not one problem.

And yes, it is going to rain tonight and tomorrow in Seattle, I live not to far from there.

Detail the problems and what steps you have taken to rectify them. As others have said Engel has a reputation for reliability. If something does go wrong they are good at fixing them either by having the owner fix the problem or having the unit sent back for service.

I've know people who have owned Engels for 10 - 15 years with no issues, and truckers who have used Engels non stop in their rigs for years. So it's surprising that you would have an issue that was not resolved.

Jeff, I am afraid that, IME, trailers are WAY tougher on gear than a vehicle. I carry my Engel 45 in the back of my LC.

It didn't rain much in Seattle this summer, Utah got most of it this year. Guess it shows that there is always a chance for things to be out of the norm.

Australian 4WD Action (http://www.4wdmonthly.com.au/index.php) did a review several years ago, and then followed up with a much more thorough review in the last edition (#136, not available online that I could find (http://www.4wdaction.com.au/current_issue/136/)). Overland Journal did a very comprehensive review in their Summer 2007 edition and there are dozens of reviews here on the ExPo forum:
