DarkHelmet- I can't tell from your photo- did the Helicopter land at the Yellow Pine airstrip?
That's one of my favorite areas in ID. Amazing trails but easy to get lost if you head off the beaten path.

I was in Yellowpine having a late lunch on Saturday and met that gentleman after he was picked up and delivered to town. I'm glad things turned out well for him.

No, we were actually quite a bit East of Yellow Pine up Stibnite Mine Road. Base was located at Profile Gap. Search area was Quartz Creek drainage. The helo landed in an open meadow off the road about 1/3 mile from Profile Gap.

Hmmm. What were you driving? We stopped into town around 4:00pm. Our search subject was still there and pulled out of town a few minutes later. We may have been there at the same time.
