Hey Everyone,

I've never had cable so always missed Steve Irwins shows, I finally caught one and I'm curious what kind of toyota truck he was driving.

OT: The shows I caught were great, RIP.

I believe it is a 79 series land cruiser with a ute conversion.

Wasn't it mostly a HZJ78?

I've seen him drive some Nissan Patrol pick ups in some of his shows, but ya, he had a few Land Cruiser 78s or 79s. That's what he drove in the movie too. Very popular rig over there. I don't recall seeing him ever drive a Hilux. Just basicly Patrols and Land Cruiser pick ups with the rear tray and canvus canopy.

If only......

utes aren't conversions, they're sold that way in OZ... http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j309/4x4Rescue/92FJ85OldWhitey.jpg

did it look like this? Cause this is my 79ute from Australia and boy do I miss her (nothing against my Runner but comeon...)

The 70series LC is hands down the most reliable and relied-upon 4x4 in the world

Too bad Toyota chose to give us the FJ Cruiser. I would've rather had that diesel LC78!
