I missed this concept truck at SEMA

http://www.trucktrend.com/features/news/2006/163_news061212_01l+toyota_v8_incross_concept+front _side_view.jpg

It's a short wheelbase Tacoma with a Tundra V8 stuffed under
the hood. The Access Cab requires the use of the short bed
from the Double Cab to fit on the short frame. A mild lift and
some flat green paint complete the package.

These are all production pieces, so it wouldn't be hard to make
this V8 available from your Toyota dealer. Why should 4Runners
have all the fun?

Whoa! :Wow1:

That's not the 4runner V8 either!

By far the best looking post-'04 taco I've ever seen!

I always wondered why Toyota doesn't offer the V8 in the new Tacomas...

Probably something to do with Corporate Average Fuel Economy and cost to produce/sell.

There may be some issues as far as crash safety too.

I really like the idea of the extended cab with the double cab bed , I would buy one which means they'll never build it! lol

True, but, the Tacoma is lighter than the Tundra...one would assume it would get better mileage. (Who knows!?)

And the Tundra is getting a heck of a lot bigger this Febuary.

Does anyone know what the power to weight ratio is of the '05 and newer Tacos compared the older Tacomas?

No I can't sleep in the back of my short, short bed. I'd have to leave the tailgate down. That'd be okay with me as long as I would have the stars to watch.

Yeah, sometimes I need a longer bed - even 8' boards hang out quite a bit, but I do like the look and that bench in the back is great for my 18 month old daughter.

Sometimes there's just no better option than to park in a out-of-the-way spot and try to stay under the radar, like ski area parking lots.

You and I think alike...:)
