View Full Version : Suitability of H Frame for camper build?
It's called "torsion free". What's the downside of using an existing H frame compared to the classic unimog three point?
added: To be clear I'm talking about the unimog made H frame. Not a custom built H frame.

I believe it's what's under the tipper bed on the U500. Also what's used to support some in-bed cranes. But perhaps I have the wrong letter of the alphabet. I'll find a link.
If you go to the bottom of the page and click "download brochure", the H subframe is shown in the system chart on page seven.

Perhaps this site would be helpful. It is the Mercedes Unimog bodybuilder site (down for maintenance this moment):

For both UGN and UHN series. It even discusses the fording option for UHN, I'm jealous!
