I've been searching for a decent quality Jerry Can that I can purchase locally, and I've happened upon the NAPA Balkamp brand "Military style" can, part number 8275429.

http://www.napaonline.com/Search/Detail.aspx?R=BK_8275429_0006394046 (NAPA's site is notsogood, so you might have to go to napaonline.com and start a session before the link will work.)

They're $40, and while I'd like to like to save the money over a known brand shipped from afar, I'd gladly pay the difference to not have to wash the gasoline off of the roof of my vehicle.

Does anyone have any experience with these? Thanks!

Does anyone have experience with these? I dont want to pay shipping from the other side of the country.

Also, has anyone used the Harbor Freight vers?

If you're really interested I've got a hookup at Balkamp I can get one cheaper than and run it through some destruction tests, I've actually been curious about these since my wife started working there. Let me know and i'll order one Monday

I'd recommend Deutsche Optik set of 4 for $196 free shipping even to Alaska:

How do you like the Optik 4 pack cans?

What did they treat/paint the inside with on these cans and have you stored fuel in them yet? If so, how did the interior paint treatment hold up to exposure to fuel? What kind of fuel was it?

Very specific questions I know, just curious about these before I put fuel in my fuel injection system I wanted make sure I am not causing some sort of damage.

BTW, I already have some of these, just have not used them yet! Maybe you have some feedback?

I've had a HF can for about a year now - though its seen minimal use. Held up fine lying flat on my roof rack on a Death Valley trip. Beyond that, its been doing a pretty good job of keeping 5 gal of diesel in one spot in my garage.

For the price, I was impressed with the quality of the metal. The fill spout is like every other CARB compliant spout - it sucks.
