I am a new owner of a used 2002 Toy Tacoma Double Cab 4x4:smiley_drive: and it took me months to find the right one at the right price. Actually, my wife found it while checking the local paper. I could not believe no one had jumped on it. I spoke to the elderly man (original owner) on the phone and he said that his wife was was tired of driving it and wanted a 4Runner. He told me that it was in excellent condition and he always had it serviced at his local Toyota dealer. I immediately drove to his home which was about 20 mins from my house. I saw the Taco and it was love at first sight. He handed me the keys and I took it out for a spin. It drove great, everying looked new and I had to stop several times to wipe the drool from my face. We agreed on a price and I wrote him a check. She now sits on my driveway.:luxhello: She will be my hunting, fishing and expedition rig. Let the mods or sickness begin!

This truck is almost perfect except it did not have the Toy rear diff lock. I could not complain because it was a sweet deal on the truck and the previous owner took excellent care of it. I will be doing my homework on lockers so any advice will be appreciated.

If you can not source a TRD rear, the ARB rear (RD89) is your best option IMO. I know a lot of people who have had great luck using the RD89.

I will likely get the ARB rear for my 02 Taco. Who has the best prices for ARB lockers?

I will send a PM to flyingwill reference the lockers. In regards to the mod frenzy, I am still studying that but the basics would be new tires, suspension upgrade/lift, and a rear locker. I live in the Inland Empire/San Bernardino County.
