$54

Good luck finding you size. If your waist is 30, 38, 40 you should have no problem.

Thanks for the heads up, but how fat I am is really none of your business!:wings:

Geeeez, I remember when I had a 31" waist like below :D
If only I could turn the clock back.

I would like to try some of those pants sometime though.

Got mine and they are very nice looking and durable. They are fairly heavy duty and nice stitching looks like they will hold up. They do seem to run a bit small. They are nice enough to wear to the office which I plan to do.

I also bought a pair of the flannel lined ones (not at REI) and they are very nice. Kept me warm in Death Valley a few weeks ago, and very comfortable with the flannel. I would definitely recommend these for camping but also the workplace.

How much smaller do they run?
I have bad luck with mail order pants.

I would say about a half size to full size smaller. This was true on two different pair. The nice thing about REI mail order is that I generally order 2 sizes, try them on and then return one. Best way to shop IMHO.

I won't be ordering any more Mountain Khakis. I started off with about 5 pair and over the past two years they have fallen apart. They start to wear out almost immediately with the sticting coming apart, then the pockets and cuffs shortly after. Never again. Especially at a price of $65 or so a pair. I blew out a pair in the butt this past week. No I am not a lard ***! I have only one pair left that have not ripped in the knee or butt.

I am going to be giving the Duluth Trading pants a shot.

I wish Kuhl made 34" inseam sizes. They only go to 32".

Check out my Deluth thread.
I have two black pairs of the Firehose pants for work, and nothing phases them.
I operate heavy machinery for the Boeing company, and they are holding up very good.

I also have a pair of the lighter CoolMax Firehose pants that are nice, but the regular ones are more heavy duty.

I ordered a pair from Duluth today. I am waiting for Kuhl to get an order of 34" inseam pants in, so I can do my own little test.

I really like the Firehose pants (http://www.duluthtrading.com/store/clothes-workwear/mens/mens-pants/92204.aspx?feature=product_1), but they are heavy, and I swore off jeans many years ago.

Been wearing some Columbia cargo pants at work that are a thick cotton, but not a jean material.
I had three pairs of the Columbia ones and they are getting thin.

One pair is toast, and the other two pairs I had the zippers replaced.

The Deluth ones are nice and thick, it will take me awhile to get use to a jean type pant again.

But what I like about these is they are like the Columbia as far as cargo pockets go.
I carry my work cell in one pocket, it just slides right in.
Both cargo sides have a Velcro closure that can fold over all of the other pockets within, or you can Velcro the flap open by tucking it inside and have access to the pockets all the time.

And the rear pockets are pick pocket proof, as they Velcro too.
I do not like the feel of pants that have the wallet exposed.
The Coolmax Firehose ones do, I may have my local tailor add Velcro in there so they will close.

My personal cell phone though I wear around my neck on my work badge lanyard, as the pants are already weighed down with work keys and other stuff.

I am going to order a pair in brown later when they get my size in.
They look pretty much like the Mountain Khakis in color.

I just ordered a pair of apparantly discontinued Gobi pants from ExOfficio. I'll let you know how I like them.

REI has the Mountain Khaki's on sale again. I just ordered two more pair this morning. I like them for work (office environment) as well as camping. Just got back from Yosemite and wore the flannel lined ones. Very comfy but not on sale:(

Yeah, I have a pair already and thought they might shrink some...but haven't.

I tried ordering but they won't give me the member discount for shipping over a certain $.

I'm going to try again this weekend.

I love seeing so many people in the overlanding community embracing the MK brand! I've been associated with them since the first photo shoot I did for them to start the brand! I shoot for many clothing companies, but wear MK's almost everyday! The people who own and design the MK brand are the folks you want to camp, hunt and hang out with. As for those who have had premature wear out problems, this generally the case. Most MK's last forever.... The one thing I love about wearing my MK's is that I can wear them from the bar to the boardroom and be comfortable in both! If you have any specific questions about this brand please don't hesitate to pm me and I'll try to answer your questions.....

cheers,
