Do you guys think its better to get replacement car parts ( http://www.speedycarparts.com/) from your dealership or from auto parts stores. My dealership is quoting me unbelievably high for an exhaust.

What kind of exhaust? What rig?

I wouldn't be going to a dealer for exhaust unless your vehicle is considered a specialty rig/exotic. Just my opinion.

We need more details but I never go to a dealer except for warrenty work on the rare occasion I own something that new. Either have a custom exhaust shop do it for you or go to e-bay, e-bay has true 4 inch exhaust system from the turbo back for my 2000 7.3 psd for 400 dollars that is hard to beat.

Ford dealer had the best price on the heater resistor for my 03 E350. Next closest was almost double at Autozone. Local napa couldn't even find it in their book.

Only time I go to the dealer is for the free oil changes and for specialty repairs, like when I needed the computer reprogrammed for the new tire diameter when I upsized the tires on my truck. As for the exhaust, unless it's a special type of exhaust, just hit Autozone, NAPA, CAP, etc.

FYI I was quoted $302.71 to replace the U-joints on the driveshaft of my 2WD truck by the GM dealer. Autozone and 1/2 hour of my time, $25.71

Also Same dealer, quote for replacing the brake pads on the same truck with 4 wheel discs, $762.85. Autozone and 1 hour of my time, $126.93

If you can do it yourself, save the cash. If not get prices, as the local garage will probably be cheaper than a dealership any day.
