I found size, but not weight specs...all I've read is "heavy" :p.
Anyone know specifics on the different sizes, and where the weight is most concentrated?
Thanks,
Sean

...That's actually better than I thought. Any guesses as to where the bulk is located in the tent? Plywood, mattress...frame?

My 2200 I think is a few hairs over 150lbs.

That's almost like driving with a Backstreet Boy in your trunk!

That's a pile of weight. I'd never thought they were that much. Think I'll stick with sleeping on the ground ;)

But they aren't even that big - do they use steel poles and canvas? Just trying to guage this against say a standard cabin tent. Think I'll do some experimentation with some of my old aluminum tent poles and some ripstop I have lying around :D

In case anyone cares... There may soon be tents available from another source... They will be good quality nylon and aluminum construction. Weight is around 65 lbs. Probably more of a 2 season maybe 3 season (if you're tuff! :REOutCampFire03:) tent. No pricing yet, however the construction cost is not bad.
I've got another question about the eezi-awns. Is there any problem opening the rear door of a 100 or like sized truck with the ladder down?

Well the 1200 will give you 48 inches of space between the vehicle and the ladder

It would really depend on how you mount it. You have 4 different ways of mounting it.

biggest advantages are a) easy of setup and take-down, and b) getting distance between yourself and any critters idigenous to the area. I can see this being a great value in a desert climate in keeping out the visitors ... snakes, scorpions, spiders, etc. etc.

well,
there is a tent eezi awn look alike on ebay that has been selling in australia
the guy calls it an ARB copy. LOL.
anyways that tent will hit the US market preety soon
and it will be cheap .
the fabric its a light 300 denier ,,kind of like the ones on tent cots.
but will never compare to an eezi awn ,
I can not say more about it thats all i know for now . but is comming.

What i know about this , it is the same tent NOT THE ONE PICTURED THOUGH..., and arb will not be able to sell in the usa, if they do they wont have a market , why, becasue they will have to sell it for double the price or more in the US, and there will be someone selling it for half of that o a third "same tent", all this is because of territory
contract protection from the manufacturer, chinese in this case.
