Been trying to wade through all the info on here for awhile, lots of great ideas on new ways to spend my money.
Didn’t want to be a leach any more and figured I would post up with an introduction.

My wife, dog and I have an FJ60 that has taken us from Maine, to the Arctic Ocean in Alaska, down to Arizona, on many smaller adventures and always back home again. It seems that everyone here has a similar taste for travel and adventure and I would like to get to know you all a bit and hopefully contribute a little to the list of ways to spend your money.

Here's a pic of the Wife,Dog & Truck.

Welcome! Great rig and sounds like some great adventures too. Way to go on the resto on your 60. I really miss my 60 and wish I had the money at the time to have just kept it and stored it till a day I could have done something similar.

If you ever head through the upper Great Lakes region drop me a line. Got some great paddling in this area.

Very cool rig. :safari-rig: Looks like you have done some work to the FJ60.
Welcome to Expo! By the way, you mentionned Maine. Is that where you live, if so you may be my closest Expo member!
Cheers ,

Dude! You're from Marquette?!! My wife and I were thinking of moving there, I love that place, you know Sean Rooney?
It's not "up"cruiser, it's Dayoopercruiser, now I get it. Couple of those pics are from the UP.

So Mods, um I'm always working on it.
ARB Front Bumper
OME Springs
Toyota 5 Speed
Durabacked Lower Half
Homemade Rear Bumper and Tire Swingout.
Homemade Roof Rack (to be updated soon)
ARB 45qt Fridge (even modded that so the lid opens long-ways, it's a disease)
Rear Drawers
Front Bins
Sleeping Platform
Limo Tint (highly recommended)
Elastic net on the roof to stash bedding and jackets
Cotton Curtain Suspended From The Roof For Those Cold Nights
Subaru Seats
Ipod in the Ash tray (totally hidden, stock radio)
Extra 12v Outlets In The Glove Box

MV50 Compressor Mounted on the Inner Fender
LED Dome Lights
IPF Headlights And Heavy Duty Harness

Yeah, I know Sean pretty well. If you've been to Marquette, you know the town is small, so I think I know everyone with a Cruiser here. haha Sean's a great guy and a real cruiser addict.

Are you still considering moving this way? I love this area too. The best mix of everything that I love to do in one place I've found yet. Not to mention its dirt cheap to live here. It really is an undiscovered jewel for people who enjoy various outdoor activities.... and you can't beat the water.:REExeSwimmingHL:

It still is. I think it will be for awhile, it takes awhile to get there, and there is not much on the way (in other words, perfect)
I know Sean through the 3FE yahoo list (my dad is a 3FE nut) Been to his house, and last year out to his camp, great guy, and family.

My wife and I unfortunately have it too good, job wise, where we are right now so Marquette is not really on the plate.
But we will be back to visit, Pictured Rocks is amazing and there are miles of back roads that lead to great camping spots, some right on the beach!

BajaTaco, thanks for the compliments, all you Tacoma guys make me wish I had one myself, then I look at my 60 and think "naahhhh" :sombrero:

Ah, I'm on the 3FE list but haven't posted in a year or two probably. I was supposed to meet up with that get together this past summer at his place but ended up having to go down to South America over that same period. Sounds like it was a good time though.

Pictured Rocks is great, as is Grand Island National Rec area right across the bay from it. My favorite place is the Keewanau peninsula. Lots of great areas to explore, plus camping spots like the attached one below. 10 miles out from Copper Harbor via dirt road and two tracks.

Welcome!!!

Nice 60 BTW.
I totally agree with the tinting on the windows.

Could you post up another picture of the cotton curtain on the inside roof?

KMR
01-10-2007, 11:45 AM
Had the window tint done by a shop, well worth it, really keeps the temps down in the truck, hides all the crap your carrying and cuts the glare from night traffic.

upcruiser, great photos!! Thats the spot with the cliffs, just below the one where they used to send the rockets up, right? We found that one in the middle of the day, so didn't camp there, but paddled around the cliffs a bit.

Couple curtain shots, the photo of my dog in the back shows it rolled up pretty well.

KMR,

Do you have a 2F or 3FE in your 60. All this talk about 3FEs has me confused... Plus when I looked at your first pictures it almost looks like you have a "3FE" sticker in your passenger rear quarter window???

How's that H55F working out for you?

Chuck

KMR

Haha, no, good ol' 2F for me! I like carbs.

I am kindof an "honorary" 3FE member (meaning they tolerate me if I work on their trucks for them)

The H55F is the best mod on my cruiser. (period)

Gotcha, yeah if I get another 60 one of the first things that I'm going to do after its running properly is put in the 5spd.

...a 3fe and h55f would be sweet in a 60 too...

Somebody did that over on the 3FE list. I can't remember who. I think I remember someone saying that it squealed the tires.

Yep, that was Dunbar.

The A440F in our 62 has been acting up...probably just nursing it along with Rodney's help. So Ma and me were discussing it just the other day and she pipes up with "I would'nt mind a manual at all", just out of the blue, me, I'm all !?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!. Speechless. Confusing all of the sudden with possibilities, hmmm?

For those that don't know, yes, this rig is Mama's daily driver. That's why the ladder and tire carrier are removable.

I am really seriously considering a 1HZ motor, would need to come with a H55 that has the right input.
I want to keep the H55 on my 2F, but if it "stayed in the family" you could use that. :D
That is the biggest $$$$, I have spare clutch pedal, master, slave, lines, bell housing, throwout fork, same starter, custom cross member, drive shaft shortening/lengthening is cheap (I know a good shop) That pretty much gets you there.
Lets do it!:REExeSquatsHL1:

And maybe that would give me an excuse to finally get a Diesel. that and I just got a raise.

Crap! You're making this hard. I would really like one of Rodney's Extreme trannys, but suddenly this looks doable and would bring the 3FE to life.

I also probably have most of the upper components from that tan truck I got from Gary. I know I would need the slave line, slave, bell and shafts done.

Call me...I was going to pull my transfer and tranny later this week to finally do that @%#$ rear main seal. What kind of time frame are you thinking of?
