Simple question. Which is the lighter tire, a bfg all terrain in 31 x 10.50 or 235/85R16?

Simple answer, the 31x10.50.

email BFG and ask, they'll reply with the tire weights.

The only problem is, they don't seem to make a 31x10.50-16.

This sheet will give you weights of the tires.

Cool beans.

I know they don't make a 16" 31x50. I'm trying to see how much more weight it will add by going from the 31's to the 235's

The 235/85 are most likely heavier because it is load range E.

Then it depends on the weight of the rim also, 15's vs. 16's, steel vs. alloy, etc.

Both wheels would be steel, so the difference wouldn't be all that much.

265/70-16 is pretty close if you wanted a 31" tire

Here is a cool website you may or may not already know about. It will help you determine tire sizes, gear ratios and taxes...okay...it doesn't really do taxes, but it would be cool if it did. :sombrero:
