Jeep TJ owner in Red Deer, Alberta. I know the Alberta and British Columbia Rockies like the back of my hand. Jasper. Banff. The Icefields Parkway. I know the trails and campsites. I have a Hostel International membership and know the hostels in the mountains. I know the Alberta campsites in the west country - which ones provide free firewood, etc. I also know a multitude of places off the path where people are permitted to camp in the forest for nothing.
My home in Red Deer is an ideal kick off point. If heading west to the mountains or north to the Territories or Alaska, let me know and I'll assist all I can on your journey. My door is open if you need a breather to catch up on laundry, etc. We have nearly 100,000 exactly halfway between Edmonton and Calgary, and everything you need to reload for moving onward from a little bit less rushed regional base.
