Did I miss this post here somewhere?

Honestly, one of the things that always bugged me about the Powerwagons is that they are too damn long. This seems to resolve that...:costumed-smiley-007

I will say that if it does come out, even without the gigantic tires, I would be happy. It would definitely give me something to consider as a next vehicle alongside the JK Rubicon (if the JK gets the 280hp v6 that is)

Yeah, that truck is sweet. I would off my 2005 Silvy HD in a heartbeat for a new Power Wagon tomorrow if they would build the new body style Ram PW in standard cab sprayed in white paint. ST trim with rubber floor mat would be a bonus too. Dodge has a good thing going but they have too many bells and whistles on the current Power Wagon package for my taste. Might as well buy an ST truck and buy the sway bar disconnect through Dodge service parts then add selectable lockers and ARB bumper with a winch and still be money ahead.

Very nice but I hate single cabs.

For those F1 fans on the forum, doesn't the paint color scheme look inspired by the Brawn Formula 1 cars from last year?

-- not exactly the place I would have expected a Power Wagon to look for ideas!

Very nice but I hate single cabs.

I've never driven a modern full size std cab, so my judgment is reserved for now.

I assume they're roomier than a 1964 chevy std cab or a 1971 ford std cab. Those are the last two I've driven, so it would probably be fine for me.

As far as looks are concerned; I much prefer a std cab vs. extended, or crew cabs. Also for breakover angle the std cab is preferred (by me :ylsmoke: )

that might be dodges answer to the raptor. was it gas or disel?

solid axle can't compete on Raptor's terrain & speed.
That looks more like a distilled PW for trails and rocks.
Linked rear suspension, sfa, 40" MTs, swb, narrowed overhang-- it's a Rubicon truck not Baja.

I would be happy if they offered the extracab shortbed PW instead of only the extra long version.

I agree it's in a whole different league than the Raptor; I'm definitely not trying to compare them here. Although, that's what most on the 'net are doing. :coffee:

The Coil Sprung rear is not exclusive to this PW Concept, I think they did that to all new 1/2 ton Dodges last year.

   In the F/S world It's either MOPAR or nothing at all IMO.

Also heading to Moab is a Raptor-style desert cruiser, developed by Kent Kroeker of KORE Engineering. No photos yet, but speculation abounds:

This would be perfect for me. I could keep my 2006 PW as my work truck..and my 2011 as my fun truck. Thanks!

Todd Tenbroek from Fox posted this shot over on rdc recently that shows the front end of the KORE truck.

And Kent Kroeker posted the following in the same thread:

"I am very tempted to post some photos of the Raptor Killer sitting in our shop. It's pretty sick. The reveal will occur at Moab a week from now.

It's not a rock crawler; it's a desert truck. It uses some of our proven tech - like the 930 inboard CVs and billet UCAs with ball joints. Giant tie rods with ball joints and enormous LCAs. It's not exactly what most people expect.

During the next few days, you may see it rolling around Santuckee and/or Plaster City. It's Viper red with Michigan Manufacturer plates."

Edit: It appears that my attempt to attach the photo resulted in a photo of about 2 KB in size. Here's the thread where you can hopefully see things better (might have to be a member):

Todd, here's the full sized photo!

Scott, as you know, I'm looking forward to your report!

Very nice but I hate single cabs. The Dodge sc's can store 5 gallon paint buckets behind the seat with it moved all the way back. I'm 6'4" and have to move the seat up to depress the clutch fully. A no frills ST would sell.

The box they put on that concept makes it pretty useless for anything but a day trip! Good luck getting to anything you put back there... my '05 PW is hard enough to reach into the box. The flare sides are just a waste of space and just going to get all banged up on the trails. It doesn't even look like there is a plan for a tailgate... no hardware for it anyway.

The frame in the photos isn't from a Power Wagon... not even close.

Put the spare under the truck where it belongs. why move it higher and wreck the CG.

I do like the flat black paint... thinking about doing my lower rockers the same way myself. dump the lime green:smilies27

Not for me... I wouldn't trade my '05 PW for it.

Not without a proper hitch... it does not look like they planned for a hitch either.:(

These concepts seem to always get put together by guys who have never been off pavement... just once I'd like to see one put together with the real world in mind. Nice looking stuff but not well thought out.:littlefriend:

I don't see all the excitement over some Raptor "killer". It is a piece of cake to build a better truck. I know lots of guys with Dodge diesels with Carli suspension that have over 500 hp and 12 inches of travel and can kick any Raptors butt (myself included). Start with a stock truck and add $5-10,000 of upgrades and voila. A full blown race truck that can tow anything. Kore does not have a good reputation amongst those that actually buy and use Dodge diesels and the best suspension systems.

Well, if this concept is like any of the others, they will come out with a cupcake version of it that is shorter, with smaller tires, a regular size bed and decent towing capacity.

All of which suit me just fine BTW. :smiley_drive:
