Ha! Should be "easy" not "aasy".
This setup cost me $26 by catching the Yakima parts on
Ebay for $16 and the Quick Fist mounts at West Marine at $10/pair.

What it contains (I substituted button-head screws and stainless washers)

Finished with a shovel locked down

I used the same mounts on my Thule Expedition rack for longer trips

Nice!
I have a question about the quick fists. Do you just push forward no the main rubber part and the hasp pops off? As in, can you open it with one hand, or do you have to use to and kinda coax it off?

Cool mod. I am a big fan of the Quick Fists!
I think BajaTaco also uses them for holding his shovel.

The Quick-Fists are easy, they can be undone with one hand. I think they are great!

If the inner part of the Quick Fist is filled by the object being clamped it will be hard to push anything in much further. I just grab the hasp portion and tug it down, out and up with one hand.

With shipping it works out to be almost the same price for me as buying locally, but I appreciate having the link to a reliable supplier.

Excellent! And you have the whole lineup too. My local store does not have the small ones.
