Hey Guys

My name is Kevin. I live in San Diego and own a 93 FZJ80 Landcruiser. Currently mods include the standard ARB Bumper, Old Man Emu lift, 33" MTR Tires and some custom mods such as a Retrofitted OEM Elocker Locker in the rear (front coming soon).

I plan on setting this up for long distance wheeling/exploration trips and my next 3 mods are the 45 quart Engel Fridge and the 44 Gallon Aux tank and a nice Power Inverter. The truck already has about 2k Baja miles on it and hopefully will see MANY more!

I spend a decent amount of time down in baja (but would like to spend more), we work with the Corona Class 1 Race Car and will be using the Landcruiser for chasing and pitting duties during the Baja races. Here is a pic of my truck and their car:

Welcome Kevin...

I like the mod list. 44 gallon aux. tank WOW :clapsmile Additional range in Baja is a great advantage, given the intermittent (but improving) fuel availability.

Kevin,

Nice Cruiser, and nice Class 1 car. Back when I was racing off road that was Class 2, but that was a while back! :)

I'd love to get down to Baja sometime soon. Sounds like you'll be a good resource there!

cheers

Hey Kevin, Nice truck!

Thanks, i bought it cheap and banged up a little in a fender bender (otherwise in awesome shape) and i fixed it up and it came out rather nicely, i am happy and i have a nice and modified LOW mileage rig for a fraction of the cost of a mint one of this vintage! I dont mind the body imperfections, it makes it easier to wheel it! :D

Thanks, i am glad you like it! Let me know if you got any questions on it well its still fresh in my head! :D I still have to make some final tweaks to it, but its 99.9% done!

For anyone that hasnt seen it, here it is: http://www.yankeetoys.org/mangler/elockerinstall.htm

So wouldnt I! :D Details on these are few and far between and getting ahold of one is a PITA!

There is a company called "Long Ranger" that makes these 44 gallon aux tanks for the 80's that fit nicely in the area where the spare tire goes. I have been looking into getting one for some time but they are a PITA to get ahold of. The company is based in OZ and the shipping usually puts it out of the reach for an individual buying just one. I believe SLEE and some other companies have bought them in lots of 5 or 10 and then resold them. I am currently waiting for another company to do that, so i can split shipping costs. The mod is around $1k or so but well worth it.

There are a few other options readily available that i might end up going with if the 44 gallon big daddy is too hard to get ahold of

34 Gallon Aux Tank:

38 Gallon Long Range REPLACEMENT tank (replaces stock tank)
http://www.man-a-fre.com/parts_accessories/fj80lx450longrangereplacementfueltank.htm

I will hopefully get my hands on the 44 gallon one and be done with it!

Here is SOME info on the mod from the slee site:

Thanks

I'd love to, but being in CO I think I'd need to do more than a day trip to make it worthwhile! But it will happen one of these days!

cheers
