Hey all....

My mother-in-law has a UZJ100 (00') Toyota Land Cruiser...Sweet rig!!! :smiley_drive: (Yes..Toyota runs in the family!!:av-7: )

Other day....she were driving around town when a loud beeping noise went off in the cab..It sounded like the door chime was stuck on but instead of a "beep..beep"...it was a long delayed almost constant beeeeeeep if you know what i mean...sounded like it was having a heart attack!!!..or has my mother-in-law put it..."shes going to blow!!"

She took the cruiser while this "beeeeeeeeep" is going on to a Jiffy Lube station were they tryed to reset the main computer by pulling the ground off the battery...Minute later....still made the loud noise......

Then she drove the cruiser down to the local Toyota dealer (still making the noise) were they told her that her internal relay system needs to be replaced at a heafty cost around $1000.... The service guy told her that he has only seen this in one other cruiser like hers......

Has any one out their experienced this before????

My mother-in-law told me that the car drives like normal(no lights coming on on the dash etc..).....I'm wondering if this is a safety thing or can i just find that special wire and cut the thing making the noise???

:Mechanic:

What do you guys think???

Another question......

In Utah....Instead of breaking the bank on getting it fixed at a Toyota dealership....Is there any good Japanese repair shops in Utah county?

Thxs guys!!

I would say the VSC system, but it's not consistent. Relays to what?

I had to replace my computer while I was in a trip in Mexico, crossing the Altar desert! Well after I got home!

Found this over on mud. Don't know if it helps or not:

http://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=57942&highlight=buzzer+noise

Also found this Toyota Land Cruiser Service Bulletin:

Service Bulletin # : EL00202 - FEB 22, 2002 NHTSA Item #: 629437
Component: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Summary: INFORMATION REGARDING CONTINUOUS ALARM NOISE FROM COMBINATION METER. *YH

If someone could find that actual service bulletin and pull it up, it might have an answer too. I tried to search for the actual bulliten, but no luck.

Did your computer spend off the same noise or was it different?

Computer for a rig like this is got to be $$$$$$!!!!

Willman,

I wanted to try and research this today but I've been crazy busy.

Post a thread in the 100 series section over at Ih8mud and maybe someone will be able to help. Couple guys in their can look up the TSB's too.
