Anyone know/had experience with how the wheel arches/fender flares attach to the 460/463/500? In short, I want to know if I purchase a G if I can take them off and go sans fender flares or will there be holes etc showing when removed. I also would like to know if anyone knows the type or where you may purchase the very skinny/thin flares such as those seen on Tom Sheppards G? Advice and opinions appreciated.

They are boltet on, so if removed there will be holes showing.
The skinny flares are the ones for W461 from 1997 to 2000. It can be bought by a Mercedes dealership...but will cost you a fortune.
Most people tends to go with the regular size flares, as you have various aftermarked productions of them. The real stuff is made in a high strength plastic, but aftermarked are made in fiberglass for a third of the original price.

I just noticed that Franco is selling the thin flares at a reasonable price.

Do these allow you to cut the fenders and glue/bolt them higher?
