Nice! Yeah, looking around a saw a bunch of different years there. I didn't see the year that they used the Freelanders though (was that only one year?) That would be interesting to see.

Any idea how to save them?

I'm not sure how you would do that from Youtube.

I did find the Freelander year, '98. Santiago Chile to the southernmost point of Argentina. First scene shows the drive up to Valle Nevado ski area which I posted some pictures of that crazy road. Much less challenging driving.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Rp1ZeTep-g

That's some great stuff. The CT has always been an inspiration to me. That's what I call real 4WD'ing. Love it, Loath it, Live it!

(in an Austin Powers voice) Yeah baby!

we do its called the G4 challange now because camel backed out after the anti tobacco laws passed. plus the 4x4 manly ness of the event wasnt being supported as much so land rover backed out. also i dont really like the G4 challange, it doesnt go anywhere interesting, i think the last 3 were held in the US. and all the driving was done on courses or roads. i was extremely dissapointed.

I have the DVD that has the Land Rover years... can anyone tell me how to burn the DVD to my computer? I borrowed the DVD from a friend and need to get it back to him.

Just copy the files from the DVD to your directory of choice. Assuming they are not `encrypted' with CSS, you can play the .vob files as they are simply MPEG-2 files. If encrypted...well, I'll leave that to another poster.

Yeah there is. I'm not at home now so I can't give details but if you use Firefox as your browser you can go to the Mozilla site and download a program that will allow you to save it. Check it out.

Thanks, had a look there (mozilla) and got kind of lost looking around. Do I assume that in order to use this program I would have to install their browser?

It is grounds for severe intellectual punishment to not use a Mozilla browser. Please tell me you do not use Internet Exploder to view this? :D

Hit me with your best shot then. :D

I have always used Iexploder and never had any problems in the 10 years I've been online. Also never understood why people replace all their o/s programs with external programs and then have to reformat every other week. But maybe I'm just not 'puter savvy enough?!!?

If anyone finds more, please post them up. I would love to see the 1980 event with Jeeps. Well ok, I'd like to see them all. I have never seen any fromm 80 to 86 or I definitely would have posted them. I will look around and see what I can dig up.

I'm definitly not a computer geek but Firefox was suggested to me a few years ago when I was having 'puter problems with trojan horse virus's and I've not had any more issues. And I've never reformatted and don't think I'd know how.
But yes, you do have to use the firefox browser to use their capture utility. I need to check this thread at home so I can give you the exact name of the program.

that commercial was lame, "best 4x4 by far." um... last i heard the disco was rated one of the worst cars on the american market. but i think that was the early series 2s. i wouldent buy one, parts are too expensive.

ill stick to my yota. o and wasnt it jeep that pioneered the off road industry? like in ww2, thats why the allies used it. because it was better than what the brits were using? pretty sure thats how it went.

Wait....you don't even OWN one of the trucks you're in fight about? :)

Jeep's better!! No Toyota's better!!! No Ford is better!! No Land Rover's better!!!

Bah, same old same old. Just go wheeling with what you want and stop bashing on other makes and models.
