I've got a third gen 4runner. i have heard that an older tacoma bumper will work but your site is saying that it will for 03 and newer only. any insight?

The 95-04 Tacoma Bar (3423020) will fit. However, it is not a direct fit. You will need to cut the front frame plate square with the frame to accommodate the mounting plates.
